THE REEF

The Reef - my reef

I sometimes imagine a perfect world as an interconnected reef, where the ebb and flow of life and time continue undisturbed. It becomes a neighbourhood—dense, layered, and interdependent—where each form exists in relation to those around it. When elements separate too far, the coherence weakens. In this work, proximity sustains the whole; connection is not decorative but essential.

The work is built from many individual photographs. I took all of the images except the fish. Underwater photography seems to me to be almost impossible - so I spot things for my husband to photograph.
