IT’S NOT OUR WORLD, IT’S THEIRS

This series follows a macaw through destruction, survival and renewal.

I have walked through intact rainforest and experienced the complexity and power of its living networks. I have also seen what remains after land has been cleared and burned—often to create poor pasture that supports relatively few cattle for only a limited time.

The same bare vines run through all three works, connecting the forest before, during and after destruction. The macaw witnesses what has been lost, survives within what remains and, finally, becomes part of the forest’s recovery.

It’s not our world, it’s theirs. Let them have it back.
